Peter Buckingham is an American photographer born in New York City.
The son of a British opera singer and a New York City dancer, Peter learned to value and appreciate the creative arts as a child.
He began his career in 1990 as a black and white printer in New York City’s photo district. He then moved on to assist high profile photographers that included Norman Jean Roy, Matthew Rolston, Wayne Maser, Max Vadukul, Marc Hom and Danny Clinch, and soon began his own projects, shooting beauty, fashion and portrait for ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, Interview, Cosmopolitan, and The New York Times.
He is currently based in New York City.
